Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without one, and your books are stored on your phone. An account backs your library up, so you can get it back on a new phone.

How do I bring my books over from Goodreads?

On goodreads.com, go to My Books → Import and export → Export Library, and save the .csv file it gives you. Then in Booklog: Settings → Import from Goodreads, and choose that file. Books already in Booklog are never overwritten, so running it twice is safe.

A barcode scan found the wrong book

Tap "Wrong book? Scan another" and search by title instead. Book details come from Open Library, so a wrong match there can be fixed on their site.

How do I turn on streaks, pages or reading dates?

Settings → Tracking. Anything you turn off is hidden, and its history comes back if you turn it on again.

How do I move a book to a new phone?

Sign in on the old phone and tap Back up now (Settings → Account). Sign in to the same account on the new phone and tap Restore.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete account. More on deleting your account.

Use the menu next to the review to report it, or block its author. Reports are checked within 24 hours. You can also email us.
